HEATHER LOBUE
June 17, 2005 GAY PEOPLE'S CHRONICLE
Flying through Pride week
Look, up in the sky! It's a bird, it's a plane! No, it's an ordinary Supergirl!
Supporting her performance at Cleveland Pride on June 18, lesbian singersongwriter Tamaras will play a number of engagements in Northeast Ohio.
In spirit, she could be described as Ani DiFranco's little sister, but her current CD, Ordinary Supergirl, shows the influence of 10,000 Maniacs and Sinead O'Connor as well.
Tamaras began her Pride week with a show at Wilbert's on June 15.
There might still be time to catch her show at the Maple Grove Tavern, 14832 Pease Rd. in Maple Heights on June 16.
Following that, she will be at Lydia's, 1400 South Arlington in Akron on June 17. Then she teams up with Anne E. DeChant for a show at the Barking Spider at 11310 Juniper in Cleveland's University Circle for a post-Pride show at 8:30 pm on Saturday, June 18.
On Sunday, she wraps up her five-day Ohio trip with an 8 pm show at the Hi Fi Club in Lakewood, 11729 Detroit Ave.

Singer, poet and performance artist Mary Miller returns to her roots and hometown with an appearance on Wednesday, June 22 at Loganberry Books in Cleveland.
Backed up with special guests Ellen Blahut, Maura Haas, Michele Lieberth and Dawn Viccaro, Miller will present Frantic, an evening of experimental performance, spoken word, music and more.
Miller started out as an "acoustic-playing folk lesbian" before branching out into more esoteric arts. She performed around Cleveland for over a decade before moving to San Francisco last year to pursue her graduate studies.
The show will be at 8 pm, with doors opening an hour earlier. Tickets are $10 with reservation, $12 at the door, and refreshments will be provided by Metro Joe's Ohio City Café.
Loganberry Books is located at 13015 Larchmere Blvd., two blocks from Shaker Square. For more information or reservations, call 216-795-9800 or see, www.lgcsc.org. The show will benefit Wild Plum Productions.
